The day before yesterday was a significant day for our team. The website completed the prototyping phase this summer. We were completely satisfied with the content testing. We calculated the startup costs, realizing that the project wasn’t yet breaking even, at a 1:25 rate. In this situation, we decided to use a calculator to figure out why we even bother.
I didn’t want to bore you with numbers, but I still have to. As CEO of the creative marketing agency AWE CREW, I’m not concerned with motivation, but with the end result, which I see as follows:
125,000 portal pages, compared to 29,600 hotels in Russia. I don’t particularly want to make Murzilkin Travel global. A domestic one, however, is fine due to the similarity of the name to a youth magazine. Someday I’ll look at the number of hotels in the Russian-speaking segment of the CIS countries.
There’s also a backup plan: attracting travel bloggers and monetizing their content, splitting the revenue between the platform and the content creators. I even personally contribute content to the site.
